About Me

Hi! I’m Rikki. I am 30. (Dang that sounds weird. I just turned 30 this last October). I am a Southern California native that just can’t leave. What do I do for a JOB? Well I can’t really call it a job because I love what I do so much! I am a hairstylist specializing in weddings. I also work with my family business- we teach CPR, First-Aid, AED- basically we teach people in the work force to save each others lives. When I am not working, I love hanging with my family whether that be dipping in the pool, hiking, or cocktailing. I also love to garden, and teasing my chickens! We are starting a small farm here…

I have been married to hubs for 5 years, together for 10… wowwwwww. I have spent my whole twenties with that dude. He is very supportive and loves what I am doing here, but for him he deals with things privately, so he will remain named “hubs, husband, hubby, poop sandwich” on this blog.

A little background on our infertility journey… We have been trying to conceive for almost 4 years. We were diagnosed with “unexplained infertility” until we went for our first IVF consultation. Then it came to light that I have low AMH- .06. It has taken 2 doctors, 5 failed Clomid and Fermera cycles, and 2 failed IUIs to give us this diagnosis. This past July we attempted our first IVF cycle, which failed. I got all the way to transfer and for whatever reason our little embryo did not want to stick. We have now changed clinics are in the midst of our second IVF cycle.

This blog is a place for me to share, reflect, whine, and hopefully make some women struggling with infertility laugh a little while finding peace and common ground in their situation.
